Hotel Description

Located in the very heart of historic Vienna and only steps away from the Opera, this incredible Hotel as well as its even better known namesake creation Sachertorte are truly world famous. The Sacher Hotel offers great tradition and atmosphere, and its long history can be sensed throughout. A splendid collection of old oil paintings and valuable etchings makes quite an impression on the hotel guests. When Eduard Sacher, son of the inventor of the original Sachertorte opened his hotel in 1876, he had no idea of the fame it would eventually acquire. Very soon the hotel became the meeting place of Austrian nobility, performers and business magnates. Recently renovated, the Sacher offers all modern facilities in a traditional ambience. Luxuriously appointed suites and charming rooms are all individually decorated with period furniture and paintings by old masters. In these exclusive settings the Sacher offers every every modern comfort of a luxury hotel.A magnificent buffet breakfast is served in the historic surroundings of the Marble Hall, which can also be used for private parties or banquets. The main restaurant boasts typical Viennese charm and an extremely high standard of both international and national cuisine. The elegant 'Red Bar' is actually one of Vienna's best restaurants. After an evening at the Opera, the Red Bar with candlelight and music is a meeting place not only for singers and conductors but also for an audience that likes to round off an evening in a unique atmosphere with traditional Austrian cuisine. The intimate Blue Bar is a charming place. The world famous Kaffeehaus is most typical for Vienna. Furnished in the period of the 19th century and decorated with the portraits of the former Royal Family it is a birthplace and a start of the triumphant crusade of the original Sachertorte.
